Armani Prive Couture Fall 2013

If you were interested in sewing and you got to look at the pieces forom this Armani Privé collection up close, I am sure you would be quite impressed by the techniques, handwork, and detailing. But since that’s not the case, the show was pretty boring. It was the same old Armani suits and a bunch of predictable evening wear, although I must say I did like that the pieces felt “lighter” than usual, and that there were no ugly hats (they were replaced by neck fascinators, but those are better than the hats…)

I love…

feather sleeves.

a fairly simple, classic gown (although I am pretty sure it is the total opposite of simple if you investigate the details up close.) And I’ve always had a thing for Armani’s evening wear stripes.

I loathe…

neck fascinators, and opening a couture show with a boring suit like this.

iridescent tailored jackets. They are in EVERY SINGLE ARMANI SHOW.

necklines that go all the way down to your va-jay-jay.

when your nipples have the job of holding up your dress.

Can this man do anything other than iridescent tailored jackets? I mean… COME ON!! nevertheless, I kind of liked the show… less abstract and rigid than the last few, were the clothes looked as if the could stand by themselves.

Agree there were a few floaty, pretty evening dresses but the tailoring brought the whole show down.

I really love your blog, Alexandra . The only fashion blog that rational and make sense, so far. It’s too often that people justify many irrational things in the name of fashion. Keep it up!
