Atelier Versace Fall 2013

All the tweets circulating last night were about how “amazing” it was that Naomi Campbell opened Atelier Versace’s Fall 2013 Couture show. Sorry, am I missing something? Is this supposed to be exciting? This isn’t exactly a new concept for them. How about doing a show that had some of the beautiful detailing and the sexy-without-being-stripper dresses that Versace used to do? Now THAT would be exciting.

I love…

the lingerie idea put to good use. This is a striking red carpet piece.

I loathe…

Naomi Campbell opening the Versace show. ‘Cause we’re not in the eighties anymore.

bottom boob. Or is there a better name for this? It is like side boob, but on the bottom instead. And it sucks.

a bra worn with a Gucci-looking suit. THIS is couture? Although I do like the bra….

the “new” safety pins – holding together this cheap looking dress.

any dress that makes you look like the Cookie Monster.

when a model looks like a figure skating superhero.

I do love the “Cookie Monster” dress!

I could cope with Naomi opening if all the models behind her were 40 and fabulouse too… that, at least, would make sense!

Good idea – that would have been fun. All the old supes.
