Calvin Klein Spring Summer 2014

There were some great signature Calvin Klein pieces in this show, beautiful smooth shapes, geometric panels of sheer and solid, and simple, luxury separates. There were also a few not-so-great pieces, like the jackets that looked like they were three sizes too big (and not in a cool way) or the overuse of unfinished, frayed edges.

I love…

making a an oversized shape tunic sexy with sheer panels.

more great stuff with sheer and solids.

innovative, interesting textiles on beautiful, basic shapes.

I loathe…

when something is oversized but not oversized enough.

a mess on the catwalk. There’s no other way to describe this.

Love those sheer tunics. I could never understand fringes on clothing.

Can you please write about sporty chic and designer collaborations with sports brands? What do you think of Adidas by Stella McCartney, hussein chalayan for puma and the made-in-Canada MichiNY?

The fringe portion was a lazy way to end the collection and it showed!

I’ll try – there is so much to write about right now! :-)

Oh, but I love Michy NY – and have already written about them!
