Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2014

The first few look of this Dolce & Gabbana show had me thinking “Oh no… not this again.” It looked like it was going to be a repeat of the past two shows. But that was only the first few looks, and then things got exciting. They haven’t exactly gone in a completely different direction from their image-heavy previous two shows, but this felt light, fresh, and fun. And there’s a plethora of fantastic dresses and coats in this show – if you are partial to a bit of print or appliqué.

I love…

a very cute little coat dress.

that a ridiculous amount of appliqued flowers still manages to look quite nice.

one of many great mini dresses in this collection.

when a dress literally looks like a million dollars.

that there are some outstanding dresses in this collection, and this might just be the winner.

thinking of how amazing this could look on the red carpet.

I loathe…

that this looks like it was made of remnants of Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch costumes.

The fifth look is the best s/s Dolce look I’ve seen forever. That touch of blue is amazing!

those belts look cheap and literally costumey. i am really ready for dolce gabbana to stop doing cliché old italian fantasy collections.

I know where you are coming from, but had you thought that maybe this is simply just what they ARE? I mean, their whole brand is basically about Sicilian prostitutes and religious imagery. So this collection is them, right?
