Michael Kors Fall 2014

If you took every garment from this Michael Kors show and hung it on a rail, it would mostly look quite sophisticated and pretty. Especially Kors’ furs, which are (as usual) stunning. But there were a few pieces that did not fit his aesthetic at all, and the styling was far too bohemian and grungy. It’s as if Roberto Cavalli and Hedi Slimane styled it – this is exactly what you would get if you combined those three brands. Maybe Kors doesn’t care anymore, since he is now officially a billionaire and can send fringe and peasant blouses don’t his catwalk. Or perhaps… he is delving in “festival fashion.” Cue massive shudders here.

I loathe…

when Michael Kors goes boho. It’s not him.

that peasant chic found its way onto this catwalk.

when the word “grunge” comes to mind.
