Hermes Fall 2014

This Hermès show is a slightly boring way to end fashion month, but at least it didn’t suck. In fact, it really couldn’t be more on-brand. Supple leather, chic wool coats, classic shapes, it’s got all the elements of a great collection, except for the excitement. But hey, not all fashion needs to be exciting, and when you’re a luxury powerhouse making a killing on handmade handbags and screen printed scarves, you’ve got very little left to prove. Bring on the expensive coats, I say.

I love…

a crocodile top that looks super causal but probably costs $50k.

I loathe…

that this is kind of boring.

when it looks like you’re wearing a men’s suit that is too big for you.

that they forgot to do a fitting for this suit before they put it on the model.
