Pretty Pictures: Living in Sweden Part 1

The weather in Europe has been fantastic over the past few weeks. Here is Wanda swimming in a lake.

I figured it was about time for an update on Sweden since I have been here for over a month now and I haven’t really told you guys much about what is going on. Well, that’s because there is not a huge amount going on in Sweden right now. I arrived with Wanda (who was a star during the long haul flight) and for the past month or so my husband and I are trying to get things sorted. Things take time here as everything is so official and organized. The kids will start daycare in May and that is also when we move into our new place in my husband’s hometown (a city of 100,ooo) and until then, it kind of feels like our lives are at a bit of a standstill.

We’ve been doing lots of walks on country roads. Wanda loves it.

We are staying in the country house, which is a teeny tiny town (population probably around 8 or 10 in the winter?) Our days are filled with dog walks, coffee breaks, and Lego. That would be quite amazing if it weren’t for the fact that both my husband and I are working, too. So while the kids are napping, in the evenings, and during the day (when Grandma and Grandpa take the kids) we are busy on our computers. Things are getting very, very exciting with The Sleep Shirt and I will have a proper update on that soon. Plus I’m doing a bunch of other things, and writing the blog, so I have my hands full. While I love the countryside, I am looking forward to having the kids in childcare, having a place in the city, and being able to focus on work a bit more. I will also be starting intensive Swedish language courses in the fall.

Anyway, here are a few photos of how we have been filling our days.

Thank you for sharing! I love reading your blog – you are living my dream (my Italian husband refers to it as fantasia di Lara). Currently we are in Coquitlam watching the rain/slush/snow fall! Looking forward to visiting Europe in the summer. Best wishes for your settling in…

Thanks! And I’m not really living a dream – the countryside is getting a wee bit boring, but I guess it all part of the challenge of moving country!

Good on you! Look forward to seeing more pictures.
