Valentino Couture Fall 2014

Another winning show by Valentino, this brand really has nailed it recently. Is it just me, or does it feel like Valentino is better now than it has been in the past twenty years? This is not meant as an insult to the founder, he was a genius in his early days but Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli seem to have figured out the perfect way to embrace the Valentino legacy and make it contemporary and relevant to the twenty first century.

I love…

these beautiful patterns and the wrap around belt.

the clean lines, pretty patterns and interesting textured fabric of this dress.

how Valentino just seems to get it right these days.

bold and beautiful prints.

a toga dress that reminds me of vintage Valentino but looks super modern, too.

pleats and straps (although this does resemble Haider Ackermann.)

I loathe…

sheer gold dresses that leave nothing to the imagination.

embellishments strategically placed to cover nipples. How about lining, instead?
