London Fashion Week Spring 2015 Part 2

My longtime readers will know that sheer tops with exposed nipples are a pet peeve of mine – so I wasn’t impressed to see them all over the London catwalks. But let’s no harp on about that, here are the rest of my loves and loathes for London. Read Part 1 here.

I love…

Antonio Berardi’s beautiful dresses. There are lots of them.

that not only are Antonio Berardi’s dresses beautiful, but they also feel fresh and new.

the big beautiful evening coats at Antonio Berardi. This is my favourite London Fashion Week show.

Roksanda’s colours and cuts.

fresh colour blocking from Roksanda.

Erdem’s incredible embroidery.

I loathe…

Burberry’s badly cut denim jacket and ugly sequinned skirt.

using old pieces of fabric as belts. And oh yeah, this Burberry trench coat looks like crap.

that Michael Van Der ham looks a bit sloppy.

Chanel suits at Christopher Kane.

that the satin and tulle tufts at Christopher Kane looked tacky.

a little bit too much colour at Peter Pilotto.

Thomas Tait’s sheer top and skirt that is falling apart.

catwalk, runway shows, fashion, runway report, fashion critic, spring 2015, london, london fashion week

that everyone is using too much satin!!! This one from Thomas Tait.

that I feel like Tom Ford is trying to be Saint Laurent (again.)

catwalk, runway shows, fashion, runway report, fashion critic, spring 2015, london, london fashion week

a dress from Tom Ford that is quite frankly terrifying.

when it looks like Simone Rocha took an old prom dress and trimmed it with feathers and told her model not to wash her hair for 3 weeks before the show.

catwalk denim. It is usually not good (see Burberry.) This is from Marques’ Almeida.

that Meadham Kirchhoff just do utter fashion madness with no substance.

OMG, Where do I start with that opening look at Burberry – all wrong and bad styling to boot. Tom Ford doesn’t really seem to have moved on from his glory days at Gucci and seems terribly out of the sync with the times. Let’s skip Milan and bring on the Paris greats: Dries, Elbaz, etc.

Don’t give up hope, Milan could still be very promising!
