It was two days into the couture shows before I even realized they were on – that’s how distracted I am this week. However the collections are looking great, well, most of them (Ahem! Versace!) Here are my loves and loathes.
that these days, we can always count on Valentino to impress.
super pretty Valli.
good girl, bad girl at Jean Paul Gaultier.
that Armani Privé did his classic thing but actually made it look light and modern.
that John Galliano’s first collection for Maison Martin Margiela was not disappointing and gives me something to look forward to.
that there were at least a few nice dresses at Dior.
how Giambattita Valli does puffiness so well.
when dresses are light and floating. This one is from Valentino.
Gaultier’s amazing trench dress.
the evening wear at Armani Privé, which is quite beautiful.
the Dior bride? Midi length white dress with organ boots.
when the Versace models look like strippers off duty.
an absolutely terrible silhouette. The proportions are so wrong, and we don’t go to Chanel for bad fashion and poorly designed clothes. (Although these days – maybe we do.)
silly psychedelics at Dior.
that Versace has managed to make hips look trashy.
when the only word that comes to mind when you look at Chanel is “stupid.”
