Halston Fall Winter 2010

This was probably one of the most anticipated collections of New York fashion week, since this is Marios Schwab‘s first show as creative director of Halston. I don’t think it was amazing, but it was a great first show. He has found a great balance of the brand’s signature style, and his own youthful touch. I think it will take a few seasons before the “new” Halston really finds itself, but in the meantime, it looks great.

I Love…

this beautiful grey jersey dress, which is prefectly cut.

great use of colour, and an interesting drape concept, combining the top and trousers.

this evening sweater dress with tone on tone giant fur cuffs.

the interesting silhouette created by the fur trim. And the boots are fantastic, I would have paired them with a coloured tight.

a great evening dress, combining the Halston silhouette with Marios' unique use of embellishment.

I Loathe…

this dress, which looks poorly made and a bit too "gamine."

to much exposed skin for Autumn Winter. Make this dress longer, and then it works.
