Narciso Rodriguez Fall Winter 2010

I love Narciso Rodriguez‘s work, he has a strong handwriting that is very recognizable and he designs a wicked dress. When I met him many years ago in New York City, I was surprised at how humble, friendly, and down to earth he was. He told me that he often thought how, one day, a retrospective of his work might look. Reflecting back on the history of the Narciso Rodriguez brand, you can see that he has stuck to his style and it seems to have worked very well, particularly in the USA. He has a strong identity of what he is, and how the collections should look, and this vision is timeless and classic. On that note, this particular collection was not one of his strongest, but you can still find some of those great dresses and simple, beautiful day pieces.

I Love…

the typical Narciso Rodriguez dress: well-cut, flattering, sexy, and modern.

a great evening top.

a modern grey winter coat.

I Loathe…

this boring black suit. It doesn't even appear to be very thoughtfully cut. This is not why we go to Narciso Rodriguez.

a coat similar to the grey one I love, but this time in a tacky fabric, that doesn't fall in the same graceful, elegant way as the grey version.
