Marni Fall Winter 2010

I love Marni: the uncomfortable colour combinations, the unusual mix of textures, the strange modern silhouettes, and the odd, chunky jewelry. It is beautiful ugly at its best. They also do incredible shoes, and have one of the most fantastic visual merchandising concepts for their concessions and stores.

I Love…

the shapes of this outfit: the keyhole cut out on the top, the oversized necklace, the voluminous gloves, and the "striped" knee highs.

the red and olive green contrast which reminds me so much of Marni. Not to mention the incredible shape of the sleeve and collar on this coat.

the colour blind librarian look.

the bold, naive screen printed motifs.

the contrasts of sheer and opaque throughout this collection, particularly on the cocktail dresses and the knee highs.

more odd shapes and colours. They feel uncomfortable yet pleasing to the eye.

I Loathe…

when the uncomfortable colour combinations are too much.
