Pretty Pictures: Elina Simonen

I’m starting a new Searching for Style column, called Pretty Pictures. I am writing about fashion photography for Examiner (don’t mind the corporate, boring website design they have) so I am going to republish some of the photos I post there. It will basically be…pretty pictures.

Elina Simonen is a Finnish fashion photographer based out of Helsinki and London. Her photographs have a soft, almost ethereal element, often created by her cinematic use of natural light or the way she works the surroundings into each pose.

Elina studied at London’s Kent Institute of Art and Design in 2001, and has worked with publications such as The Sunday Times Magazine, The Independent, and Cosmopolitan.
