Resort 2011: Michael Kors

Michael Kors is calling his resort collection a “destination” collection, rather than resort, which seems to work very well. The concept of resort or cruise collections used to be about holidays in the winter, not only hot holidays, but also chalet, and this collection has some great knits and fur for just that. I know I am a bit bias when it comes to Michael Kors, for some reason I can’t help but love his American/classic/lots of camel colours/luxury collections, I struggle to find fault. I guess he has just perfectly embodied what an American luxury brand should be about. On that note, I am not a fan of the Kors by Michael Kors bags, which I put on par with Coach. The branding is tacky.

I love…

matching knits and tan legs.

fur and cashmere for après-ski.

the perfect oversized knit tee.

this chocolate jersey dinner-after-the-beach dress.

a degradé summer evening gown.

I loathe…

a summer evening ensemble that looks like something a psychotic bride would wear.

i think mk is like armani…
BOR-ING. but that might be because i grew up in the states. they might look pretty in pictures, but i think you’d never notice them as luxury on someone. you’d never CARE.

    i’m just say-in. x

Fair enough, I know he is not exciting at all, and I don’t know why I am obsessed with him, I just love the idea of wrapping myself in camel coloured cashmere.
