I LOVED Donna Karan‘s fall winter 2010 show (see my review here) so I had high expectations for resort. This collection is very Donna, with a lot of draped dresses and practical tailoring, and generally quite a strong collection. I’d love to see her try some draped swimwear, and maybe some more pieces that are “easy.”
I love…

a chainmail top worn with tailoring, on a tanned girl. Totally unpractical for resort, or chalet, or destination or whatever, but it looks nice.

a very "Donna" draped dress. I would love if this was in an absorbent fabric like cotton or linen, and you could throw it over a swimsuit after the beach, but I doubt it is for that. I don't throw $2000 dresses over a sandy bikini, and that is probably the price of the dress.

another example of a dress that would be great if it was in cotton and you could wear it on the beach and have it drag in the sand and look fabulously disheveled. But it is probably way too expensive to do that.
I loathe…

the proportions of this jacket. The sleeve is too flared, the waist is belted too tight, the pockets are too big... all wrong.
