The Narciso Rodriguez 2011 resort collection was weak, it was extremely small, but not focused, and with very few winning pieces. I am usually a very big fan of his work, he has a strong handwriting and a loyal clientele of women who love his simple, elegant, modern cuts. But this collection feels confused… The suits are either too formal, or too edgy (they should be on Acne‘s catwalk, not Narciso’s), and the dresses are too predictable. Although the body conscious, knee-length dresses are his signature, I would expect he’d relax it a bit for cruise, aside from a few evening pieces. This doesn’t seem to be the case, in fact, there are far too many binding, tight dresses in this collection. Even the Narciso woman wants to relax a bit when she is on holiday.
