Resort 2011: Marc by Marc Jacobs

I have a confession to make. I don’t own anything from Marc Jacobs. Or Marc by Marc Jacobs. (At least I think I don’t but then again, sometimes I lose track.) Aside from the ballerina flats, there’s been nothing that has made me want to lay down my hard earned cash to buy. And believe me, it is a lot more cash in Europe than it is in North America, since Marc Jacobs is a lot more pricey there. Now that I’m back, I just haven’t felt the need. I know the Marc by Marc Jacobs stuff is not too expensive, but I still think he can’t just make printed sweatshirts, because there are a million fast fashion brands that do great printed sweatshirts, and we want more from Marc Jacobs. So unless this whole resort collection is less than 100 bucks a piece, it looks WAY too casual and cheap to be a luxury brand. There are some lovely , easy, fun summer dresses and tees, but I hope they are cheap, because they look like great H&M.

I love…

a fun, printed t-shirt dress. I'd pay 70 dollars for this.

a very cute dress with a scalloped hem.

a baggy t-shirt with a cool hem, and a nice plain pair of shorts.

another great, easy little summer dress.

I loathe…

jogging shorts.

more jogging shorts. Worn with an equally unimpressive top. And an unimpressed model.

jogging pants!!!! I see a theme here...and I'm hating it.
