Resort 2011: Calvin Klein

Calvin Klein‘s resort show started on a bad note: unflattering white suits, that made the models look overweight, which is bad news for normal people. It got marginally better, with some simple suits and dresses in neutral tones. But I am starting to get VERY pissed off, not with Calvin Klein, but with the number of resort shows that keep popping up on Style.com. Are we heading towards four seasonal fashion weeks/months a year now? It is ridiculous… it is TOO MUCH. And most of this is transition collections, rather than resort. I am going to write more about this after this “additional” fashion week is over.

Back to Calvin Klein, lots of boring suits and dresses. I love Costa’s aesthetic for the brand, but I just feel this collection is a bit dull. There were a lot of nice dresses, but they are just nice, not fabulous, and I feel like if designers are going to go through all the hassle to put on three or four shows on a year, instead of two, they had better make it exciting.

I love…

a simple dress, very Calvin.

more simplicity, and in a beautiful tone of grey.

I loathe…

a badly cut, unflattering coat.

any outfit that makes a model look fat. Imagine what it would do to a normal person.
